Its been a while since any updates so here are a few pics.

Sheffield 2007

What its all about

This was taken at Snibston discovery centre at a KOTE Star Wars day. Seeing all the kids faces light up make all the effort woeth while.

R2 and My Clone Armour

This picture was taken at Who shop in Blackpool, its myself in my clone armour next to my R2.

Kenny Signing My Dome

Finally bumped into Kenny Baker at Milton Keynes and got him to sign my dome, next challenge is to have a few photos with my R2 and Kenny watch this space.

R2D2 Finished

Unfortunatley I have been a little busy to put up any further progress pics, I will post up some more of the build at a later date.

Test Fit

Attached some parts to my leg, the only part that needs painting is the strut button, its still white and needs spraying silver to match the strut.

Just need the shoulder hubs now. Next job will be to finish the feet.

Oh and my battery box's arrived the other day Yippppeeeee

Attaching the Booster Cover

I attached the booster cover by marking out the holes then attaching screw ready to fit on the leg.

Horseshoe

Here is one of my finished Horseshoes, this was made up of layered PVC then filler was applied and sanded down to a smooth finish. It was then sprayed white with the inner silver.

Outer Leg

Test fitted some of the parts to the outer leg, next i need to spray the boster cover and the leg.

Shoulder hub

Shoulder hub sprayed and fitted to the satalite motors, the leg will bolt onto this via the 4 outer holes

Leg

Leg has had all the pieces sandwiched together and glued using impact adhesive, filler has been applied ready to be sanded down to a smoth finish.

Test Fit

Decided to test fit some of the parts, still a lot to do but its nice to see how he is comming on.

Outer Leg and Ankle

Here I have split the centre ankle into two pieces this allows me to attach the ankle cylinder, wedge and Keith's resin Beefy. I have attched these with 5mm csk bolts.
when I am happy with everything I will attach the two pieces together ready for spraying.

Finished vent

Side vents

Finishe the front off the vents just need to make the back piece and spray it blue.

After drilling holes in the ali I then got a file and broke all the drilled holes through.

Looks a bit rough but the next pic you will see with a little bit of clean up and patience it comes up good.

I marked out the cutouts onto the ali and started by drilling holes all the way down

Horseshoe test fit

Test fitted the horseshoe just need to spray the buttons and hydraulics silver. the buttons and hydraulics are made from resin I brought these from Keith at resin parts.com

Ankle & Cylinder

Offered up the ankle cylinder and wedge, drilled and tapped the resin ankle piece then fitted with small 3mm screws.
